My Mission Statement

And why I decided to start Midlife Riot Club.

Yep, that's my Mission Statement. Lofty intentions I hear you cry! Yes, I agree!

But, admittedly, this is just as much for me, as it is for you.

I am, quite frankly, bored to fucking tears of living the same week on repeat, like my own eternal Groundhog Day, and I know I'm not the only woman my kind of age who is feeling like this.

(How long do you have to scroll these days to get to your birth year??!! Rude!)

We have spent the last 15 - 20 years with partners, raising kids, keeping home, holding down jobs, be there for friends, organising holidays, arranging tween's social lives, keeping everyone in clean underwear, starting to potentially care for elderly parents, trying to carve out time for ourselves with the miniscule amount of energy we have left, and, fuck me, I'm knackered!

I want to have fun. I want to have some adventures before I'm too old to put my own knickers on. I want to try new things, learn new things, laugh more, say yes to things that aren't strictly sensible.

And I want to find other women who feel the same.

If you're willing to step a little outside your comfort zone, you are slightly sweary and occasionally a little inappropriate, then you might just fit in here.

Because that's what the Riot is about - Doing shit differently, having a bit more fun and finding ourselves again.

And doing all of it with other women who get it.

Because we all know that doing shit like this is so much better with friends.
